Contributor License Agreement (CLA)

To ensure that Framework M remains open, free from intellectual property disputes, and legally protected for all users and adopters, the Framework M Software Foundation requires all contributors to sign a Contributor License Agreement (CLA).

Overview​

The CLA ensures that:

  1. You retain copyright to your contributions.
  2. You grant the Framework M Software Foundation a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, modify, and distribute your contributions under the project's open-source license (Apache License 2.0).
  3. Downstream enterprise users and adopters can legally rely on the software without risk of patent or copyright claims.

Types of Agreements​

  • Individual Contributor License Agreement (ICLA): For individuals contributing code, documentation, or design on their own behalf.
  • Corporate Contributor License Agreement (CCLA): For individuals contributing on behalf of their employer or company.
